Floating hardwood v t&G overlay flooring
Hi there, just after some opinions on floating engineered hardwood floors versus hardwood overlay to apply over tiles. I've read a bit on the net, and spoke to a local bloke who reckons they are very comparable. The only floating floors I have seen were in new project type homes and maybe they were laminate as they were awful... We currently have a pink brushbox floor so we have been a bit spoilt I suppose! Our new house is tiles and we want to change it to timber.
Also, we are after low toxicity as we are expecting in new baby in 2 months. If we went the overlay we would use a water based finish, and I suppose an advantage of the floating floor is it's pre-finished... but will we get a similar look and feel???
