Great Service from Anagote Timbers
Went to Anagote timbers Marrickville (Sydney) the other day, they were great.
I went to pick up some off-cuts to practice hand planing and joint construction in hard wood. Explained to them what I wanted but I didn't have a clue about what wood was what, how it was to work ect. The assistant explained what each piece I picked up was,and how hard or easy it was to work.
While I was there there were other people there being allowed to inspect the pieces they were shown and offered others if that didn't suit.
Great range of nice timber too
All in all great service, I will definitely go there when I want to buy some timber for that special project.Man can wait long time with open mouth for roast duck to fly in!!

Anagote - Funny name - Very Good Service
I'll join the chorus of praise for Anagote Timbers at Marrickville, good service, good selection and they have short lengths per super foot and an "Off cut" bin at $2 a piece.
I picked up a nice Tallowwood board, some Jarrah, and a hunk of Huon (I think, I'll plane it later). Out of the "Bin" I got some nice play wood, more handcut dovetail boxes.
So if you are in or visiting Sydney, I highly recommend Anagote Timbers at 144 Renwick St Marrickville, ph 9558 8444. Open Mon - Fri 0800-1600, Sat 0900-1130.
I have no connection other than being a happy customer and now I will have to divide my wood money between Anagote and Brad's Burls at Peakhurst.Pat
