The time has come!
Well the time has come to head west for a couple of weeks. Couple of things on the to do list.
1. Call in on Derek aka Lord Vader, and swipe his #62
2. Find squizzy and pinch all his jarrah
3. have a bloody good look round and make a general pain of myself as a tourist.
4. see if I can find a jarrah supplier somewhere.Boring signature time again!

When you get closer give us a yell and I'll check out a couple of the recyclers down the road. Going south to pick up some old sleepers shortly but they are going to be hardwork getting the bridge spikes out. I may be able to score you a couple if your interested.
In your travels, have a look at the longest wooden structure in the southern hemisphere;

There's also a couple of small timber mills out the back of town.

That Busselton Jetty is really something to look at. We were there in '99 and fell in love with Busselton - an absolutely beautiful place - liked it heaps more than Margaret River that's for sure.

Out back,if you get an opportunity around Walpole area ask if any Red or Yellow Tingle is available ...getting hard to get now but comes up a dream.
Real hard and some spot mills down that way used to run some thru ...but I dont if there is any still around commercially?
Any way have a great holiday and get loads of wood to take back for your enjoyment.
Cheers

Umm, I'm confused. Isn't Outback the one who's going to WA?
Is Borer going too?
Are they going together ?
Have I missed something
Have a good trip Outback (and WB too if you're going )
I've not been to the land of sand yet.
Might make it my holiday destination next year though.

Craig,
I think they must have secretly arranged with my boss for me to get some time off work to cruise around WA. Unfortunately they have blown the surprise by revealing their cunning but thoughtful plan.
This is the first I have heard of it but I will thank my boss for his generosity, no doubt Meg is in on it too!
I think it is only Outback going at this stage, a wonderful thought though and I wish it was true but sadly I think it is an innocent mistake.- Wood Borer

Enjoy our pretty state, the wildflowers are in full bloom if that tickles ya fancy. Nannup is full of them.
There are heaps of mills down the southwest.
whitakers mill in north greenbushes
Springdale Mill, in manjimup
Blackwood mill in bridgetown
the guy that delivers my wood, stopped in at his place to pay him and what a gold mine. I suggested I could help him sell his stuff on the net, so maybe, just maybe I will have some wood for you all in the coming months.
He had these huge slabs of stuff the japs want and buy for $9 kg green...
Spun me out, I want one for a outdoor table...

vsquizz and I have been PMing each other over this matter and last night on Tony Delroy's show on ABC radio, Tony made an announcement about someone who is overdue in WA. His family are concerned. This person is from NSW!!!!
I have EMAILed tony Delroy at the ABC to get details of the overdue person. Let's hope both or Outback are/is located safely.
Tony runs that popular quizz after midnight AEST. Not too many woodwork questions but not too bad all the same.
I will keep you all informed when I hear back from the ABC.- Wood Borer
