Sectional Panelift Garage Door Problem
Hey fellow renovators,
I am in the process of installing a sectional panel garage door. The problem I have is that the sideroom available is only about 60mm. Now I have seen pictures of the rail system on these doors, and the rails are only 50mm wide. Why do they say minimum sideroom must be 120mm. The motor isn't on the side, so why can't the door be installed with 60mm side clearance?
Also, can anyone recommend a garage door company that could get around this? Have tried B&D, no luck.
Any help would be hugely helpful.
Cheers.

You need about 20mm overlap of the curtain for weather proofing the track is about 30mm and the the brackets that hold the track are about 60 to 70 mm and then the tracks are installed at a slight angle outwards from the door.
You could always install some timber jambs down each side and reduce the door opening.
You could also try Glderol Doors or Steeline Doors they also manufacture Sectional overhead doors.
