What size for a dust extractor
Hi all,
I don't know much about dust extractors, but as my new playroom is under the house I want to get a decent set-up for dust extraction and woodchip control.
I will be running the following tools (but not all at once):
Bandsaw
Table saw
Thicknesser
Router Table
Jointer
Lathe
What size dust extractor should I get?
Cheers

I would say at least 2hp and possibly even more, unless you are going to only use one machine at a time and you will set up so you either detach and re-atach the hose each time you change machines (that's how I get by with a 1hp) or you are going to have a permanent installation with very short runs and really tight blast gates.

Thanks for that.
I probably will only run one machine at a time - but it still sounds like 2 H.P. is the go.

Yeah - unless you go towards handtools like me, you will appreciate having the power.

Dust Extractor
Hey There,
Inherited a 1hp dusty and now have a 20' x 30' shed, no where big enough. i hole heartedly agree with the comment 'AS BIG AS WILL FIT OR WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD' There will always be dust and chunky bits, best to get them in a bag not in your lungs. I am saving for a 2hp and another whirly bird in the roof. I am also looking at a fan system to get a positive pressure in the shed to make the airborn dust go up and out the whirly birds.
