Plastering without removing skirting...
We've recently had a quote to plaster our two-room extension - its double brick and luckily never been painted.
The plasterer said we can either remove all the skirting boards and doorway bits, or he can render and plaster up to and slightly over the skirting. He said we'd lose a little of the thickness of the skirting, but unless you were looking for it, it wouldn't be noticeable.
Given that I'm not likely to be any good at replacing the skirting if its taken off, is there anything that can go wrong with this approach?
Or should I bite the bullet and get a carpenter to re-lay the skirtings once the plaster is done?
