Hi all

I've been sub-contracted to lay some stringybark decking for a client and am looking for a little advice.

I've never used this species and I understand it's not very popular due to instability and rot issues. That being said, I'm going to be laying it regardless - it's not my choice, it's what the client wants.

The decking has been machined with a joint at the ends so the timber doesn't need to join over a joist.

My question concerns how to attach it (to a treated radiata frame). My first preference is to nail without predilling, the supplier says to predrill and screw. Neither the supplier nor I have actually installed this stuff though so I'm wondering if anyone in the forum has done so and what your thoughts are on a fast and effective fastening method.
