Question Question for the computer gooroos

Is there some way that I can print on a clear film with a sticky back to put pictures on mugs etc.? somewhere in the dim dark recesses of my mind lies a memory of reading about this process. I do not know what to use as a search question for the web.

I have a scanner, I have Picture It 2000, I have home publisher.
    If Yes...
    What paper do I use?
Do I need a different ink cartridge?
Can this process be stuck onto wood and then sprayed over?
    All otyher relevant information, Please

Like T-shirt transfer paper there is a heat sensitive transfer paper that is used to transfer pictures from inkjet printers onto ceramic mugs. There was a post some time ago about some guys printing directly onto wood. Searh here 'printing on wood'

    Talking Printing on wood etc.

Thanks Joe, I looked up that posting as suggested and once you get through the silly stuff there is some good information in there.
I will look about. I am friendly with a local printers here so that may be an avenue.
