Greetings
G`day mates,
My name`s Ant, live in Waroona, WA, about 120km south of Perth. I was surfing the net looing at Metal Lathes as I intend buying one soon. Came across your site and have picked up some realy important info and advice. Im not realy into woodworking, although i have built a few pieces in my time when i was younger( 55 now)
By trade im an Electrician and work for the loca/state power utility. the lathe will be used to make up parts for the trike i am building and other bits and pieces.
Anyway thats about it, will be keeping in touch regularly for advice and info.
Regards Ant

G'day Ant, and welcome to the BB. We can't help our addictions but you will find (have found) there is an active group of metal grinders here and not just woodworkers. Regardless, the forums are worth visiting just for the sky-larking that passes for humour.

Hi Ant, welcome.
You did the right choice with register yourself to this wonderful forum.
I'm a real hobby woodturner, so not making any profit, just turning for my own fun and family and good friends, but I love it to work with metal too.
Have fun.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the welcome, I feel like I`v gained a new family. Will keep all you metal grinders posted on which lathes i am looking at and what you guys think of the products.I need to buy one that works, not one that needs rebuilding so I was thinking new. About $1500 is the budget, plus freight.
I will keep looking, cheers guys.
Regards Ant
