    Default French Polish Polishing Help

Hi everyone im trying to get a glossy polish with french polish and was wondering if i could buff it with anything like beeswax, organoil natural wax or something. Whats the best or works well? Also if i got a lambs wool pad and a buffer could i hand rub on a wax then buff it with the machine or would a hand buff be better? I read somewhere that car compound(cut and polish) are good for polishing the polished surface of the wood?

With French Polish, the main thing is to generate heat to set the finish. I don't like the power buffers, for me they tend to burn the finish. You can start with 400 paper and some sort of lube, I use water and a little dishwashing liquid continue with 600. Once the fish is smooth with no runs then buff with Rottenstone and Pariffin oil. Be sure you have enough finish on and be careful not to buff through.

This final buff takes time so don't rush

    Hope this helps
