Help on decking screws - my last question (until the next one)
Ok all - i have my substructure down - and have discovered how terrible I am at hammering nails into pine. Regardless it is done!!
the next question relates to screwing the boards down.
(now for the really dumb part)
I don't really know what 8g or 10g is or what it means.
I thought I would just use a galvanised self sinking screw - but after reading on here - looks like stainless steel is the way to go.
Also - looks like i should pre-drill my holes using a Smart bit - which looks like it creates the counter sink for the screw to slide into. i thought the screw did it's own counter sinking??
Anyway - any suggestions on size, length, material of screws would be greatly appreciated!! I have about 55m2 of deck to do - so figure I need 3000-3500 screws.
So any suggestions on the cheapest place in perth to get them would be appreciated as well
