I have a new ceiling to coat with paint and after spending some time making sure I am happy with the joins I need to seal and undercoat the area. It is currently exposed outside but new DA in progress to convert to room, < 6mths for this to be complete ( still procrastinating on some things). I have bought some sealer under coat from Mitre 10 Ulitimate acrylic made by Walpamur (Vic) a TM of Orica.

Is this stuff all the same given it is made by Orica in one form or another? I have previously used only Dulux weathershield (Orica) on the exterior of my house and been happy with it.

Is this a marketing ploy money spinner or you can tell the difference? Is there a secret ingredent I should insist on regardless of the brand on the front label? I have also heard mixed advice on using the one coat brands for the top coat?
