    Default G'Day from Brisbane

    G'Day, lol.

I've joined, as I've always loved woodworking, and know I would love to learn, as I've always been drawn like a magnet, but not known where to start.

My 14 year old son, is also interested, and I don't know where to start to teach him! lol

I remember years back, there was a place advertised that you could go to where other woodworkers use the machinery for free? (Gosh, hope my memory serves me, lol).

I would like to look into a Course at a State School, or the like, if someone doesn't mind pointing me in the right direction, please?

Anyway, wishing all a lovely day.

    Take care,
    Kim

    Kim,

Welcome to the forum. How's Brissie's weather at the moment? I'm sure the Brissie boys will be able to help with your requests, I'm too far away to be of immediate help.

    Kim,

Thanks mate, we got some rain at last. Think some of it it might be left over from your lot. Daughter lives in Upper Kedron and says the first storm brought truely horizontal rain. The wind was so strong it lifted the tiles up and let rain in under them.
She and SIL are keen yachtpersons and know wind forces. Their estimate was wind in excess of fifty knots.

Wow, Jerry. I live not too far from The Gap, which was hit hard. I haven't ever observed weather such as was in that storm. I was convinced that the windows may implode, at the time. For the first time ever, I was concerned in a storm. We've lost trees, everywhere, on our land too, which is a shame.

    Take care

Thanks so much for the information, Sam.

Would we be better off completing a Night-time Course at a School first, so we know something, before joining one of the Clubs?

I Home School my son, and I would love to incorporate wood turning into his curriculum; for me, too, lol.

    Thank you again,
    Kim
