Basement/workshop conversion - many questions
I have a brick veneer home with suspended floors. It is a two story home, with a Hardiplank™ upper level construction. My builder mate (I ain't no builder) tells me I need to be real careful of wind loading. My project is this: The house is built (AFAICT) on sandstone. The internal piers are/were sitting on compacted/undisturbed earth. The building was constructed sometime around 1960 and has no signs of cracking or movement.
