WA Blackbutt Direct Stick Floor
G'Day all, I will be using a professional floor layer to install 200m2 of direct stick flooring to our house that begins in 2 months, and will be a concrete slab / double brick constructon. I have got my hands on WA Blackbutt 135mm x 19mm. The timber will be stored in the warehouse for 6 months and then stored on site for 3 months prior to laying. The timber is currently air drying and is due out of the kilns in about 3 to 4 months. I have had one installer caution me on the instability of WA Blackbutt and he stated that it may take up to 4 years for the timber to settle and another who has done this type of timber and the same size many time with no problems. Two different opinions from two reputable installers?? Surely if you have correctly dried the timber and then had a professional lay the floor no cupping, warping or distorsion should occur. Any points of view on the timber, its size or things to specify during its installation will be appreciated.
