Ok my turn, I am building a small deck on top of another one, to gain more hight so they can see over a 2mt high wall . Its a penthouse and they want to have a view. So my question is .what is the best way to fasten the new posts to the existing deck surface. Can i just skew nail in at the bottom if i find the original post locations under the existing framing. or can i locate the new post anywhere but place a footunder the new post and skew nail. The new post will sit on top of the existing deck.
