Minimum height Bearer required
Hi All,
We are looking at extending our front balcony out by 1.5 meters. The existing balcony is a suspended concrete slab. We are decking over the slab with timber to match the deck extension. The doorway is under this slab and there is very limited head height.
We are looking at butting the deck extension against the slab and going out by 1.5 meters. In short, we can only have a bearer that is 160mm thick, so that it lines up with the existing suspended slab. Bearer would be a continuous span with one span being 280mm and the other span being 240 (refer attached diagram).
Is it possible to get a bearer that spans as above and is no more than 160mm thick??
Thanks
