    Default Forum Fees

I joined a new forum today and after joining was told of a fee charge of $10 annually if I was to post or reply to any thread. I wonder if I'am being a bit over sensitive or is this the norm now. ?

It varies by forum. For example, some forums do not allow any advertising, therefore they must get the revenue to continue some way. We are fortunate that Neil is such a benevolent dictator. But charging a fee is not all that uncommon.

I'll have no part of a forum that charges fees unless i'm getting something tangable back in return. Adds don't bother me in forums, they are easy to ignore & sometimes useful.

The main reason I joined was to see photos or diagrams posted on the site as they were not available to non members. I was looking for a diagram of the Anchor Yanka or similar as I'am finding it a pain to lift my boat anchor from deep water. The fees are only directed to new members who joined after June or July this year. I think charges must restrict new members joining but then again maybe thats what they want. Graham.

Please do that Rossluck, and also send your pin number and password as well. Iam betting (its the season for it) it can only improve my overdrawn balance. Graham
