my son hooked me up so I could follow his backpacking/beer drinking trip around europe
(did you know a beer in Norway will set you back 15 bucks )
what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Guilty, for the same reason as everyone else - the kids want you on it. I must admit that I am suspicious of the service. I would not be surprised if it is not some sort of data gathering machine. There are a lot of names with links if you use it fully. Also if someone sends you flowers, drinks, ..... then the small print says that you agree to them grabbing your address book.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Wait a sec..Your kids got you lot onto facebook? What kind of kids are they?? I just can't imaging some young bloke proudly telling his mates that he convinced his parents to join Facebook. Do these kids grow up in some strange environment where all The Olds are hip and happenin'??
I'll curb my argument there but I'll just say that I'm very much against Myspace, Facebook etc.

The Weakest Link
Yep Big Brother syndrome, spammers heaven, Microsoft now owns Facebook while Murdoch owns My Space.
They are no different to School Friends/Reunited all data gathering even WWF does that.

I have a Facebook nothing on it just so I can track & stay in touch with a few people who think its easier than using e-mails
A forumite found me on Facebook and I don't even use my own name or user name in WWF not at the forumite but that Facebook has connected with my personal e-mail address not even listed on their site.

I joined one of those things just to embarrass my son. I made all of his friends my friends and started acting like a teenager. I got frowned on for not having a public face fitting for my profession by my boss but I don't give a rats........
Now I'm going to let all the info go stale - just like a lot of other stuff on the web.

Yep. I'm on it. I was boycotting it, but I will say I've been finding people from the past in droves in the last few weeks.
Wife- "Whoa, who's that?"
me- "eighth grade, we went out for three days"
wife- "she's hot"
me- "and you're lucky. now quit snooping."Do nothing, stay ahead

The best kind funky. The sort that don't mind the old fella sharing their secrets and are quite proud of the fact that their old bloke is in their group with their other mates!
Oh, did I tell you my daughter joined me up, and mailed me my password?
I didn't have a say in it at all, haven't got into it either.
Cheers,
P
