G'day from the Barossa Valley
G'day all, my name is David & I live in Williamstown on the edge of the Barossa Valley.
My brother started making walking sticks while on his gold hunting trips & I started making what I call hiking sticks after reading an article on the web about the diamond willow.
We recently had a holiday in Canada & America where we stayed with some American friends & he is a woodcarver & tried to teach me how to carve a face on a stick.
I haven't progressed very far with the carving due to our cold winter & don't think I will do much carving but it has got me reading up on carving a lot & may try some simple walking stick handles when we are into daylight saving & the weather warms up so I can stay out in the shed a bit longer.
Regards Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. I have been to Williamstown many many years ago just for a short stay but it was nice as I remember.
Reality is no background music.

Hi Dave, welcome.
Must be quite an experience travelling through Canada and the US, and meet some friends. It's high on my wish list to bring a visit to the US.
