Default WOODWORKING QUIZ for 29 AUG 04

    Good Evening Friends,
Here in the USA some people have elected to build their homes virtually under ground except for the south side of the house. They allow light to the rooms either through skylight tubes or by artificial source.

Why do you think this would help them with their utility bills?

    Respectfully,

I mean, Damn! next thing they'll be saying its winter when its actually summer....

I tried to explain it to some of your Countryfolk,
after I had written to one saying
"No Wucken Furries"............I had to 'TRY' and explain that

Default WOODWORKING QUIZ ANSWER for 29 AUG 04

    Good Evening Friends,
Here in the US most ground is above the 100 year flood plain and we are able to literally bury a house with out fear of flooding.

As a general rule in most climates the underground below 4' holds a constant temperature of 54º and therefore it is cheaper to heat and cool a house.
And unlike you blokes down there we face the houses to the south to get the benefit of the winter sun.

    Thank you for your support.
