clear grain filler
Ive just finished spraying 2 slab tables, the lacquer Ive used was mirotone
acid cat satin finish, one slab was jarrah the other was redgum. both tables
were sanded down with 400 grit paper, the redgum table came up great
but the jarrah table has very tiny pin holes in the finish. it seems to have
a more open grain than the redgum, that leeds me to ask, does anybody
know of a clear grain filler that I can use on the jarrah that is compatible
with acid cat lacquer. Ive used timbermate water based colour grain fillers but would like to find something that is clear so I dont have the job of trying
to match the colour exactly.
any help would be great

yeah what Neil said...
Although,
I used mirotone A/C Lacquer for years. And only ever used the top coat. Even the most open grained timber (for example - Silky Oak) was filled easily.

Almost without exception there will be a matching sealer for any mirotone top coat.
It will just have much more solids in it & it will be easier to sand.
