himalayan cedar finishing help
I've almost finished a set of shelves from himalayan cedar, and want an easy natural finish that will wear well,
I was only going to sand it to 240 grit, any sugestions to bring out the best in it.
(is there anything that works well with the smell of cedar?)
It's for a friend, and i'm only going to have time to give it a couple of coats, and it has to be natural, non-toxic,
Was wondering if linseed and bee's wax was reasonable choice?

Hugh, look on the web as this will give you some ideas.
One site recommends:
Instead of paint, these items look there best when sanded and then steel wooled to a fine finish. Tung Oil may be applied then steel wooled again after thoroughly dry.
I reckon your linseed/wax is worth a try on a scrap to see how it goes.
