    Here's another oldie then

An alien ship lands on earth and takes control of the place.

An alien walks out of the ship and places two spheres on the ground, one has a hollow and one has a red circle painted on it.

He approaches the group watching him and points to a man in the crowd - "come forward" he says. The man separates from the group and nervously approached the alien.

The alien then puts the spheres down in front of the man, turns to the crowd and says:

"There are two spheres in front of this being, he must choose one. Not choosing will result in destruction of the planet. Choosing the wrong sphere will result in the destruction of the planet. Choosing the right sphere will result in the salvation of you all.

"We seeded life on this planet many years ago. If the experiment has succeeded, and a certain basic level of intelligence has been achieved, you will survive, if not, this planet will be destroyed immediately."

The man looked at the two spheres in front of him. The one with the hollow, on his left, seemed to be throbbing and pulsating. The other, with the red circle painted on the top, seemed to be giving off heat.

To save the earth, which sphere does he choose, and why.

Incorrect. (You've killed us all twice now )

I said "one has a hollow" - I did not say it was hollow.

I will not say which is correct, until the correct reason is given.

To which the alien replies "Which one would that be? Left or right are your only choices."

The one on the left, cause spheres don't have tops

Or the one on the right because Mr Alien says "Choosing the right sphere will result in the salvation of you all."
