Hi ya. First I've just sanded an old set of drawers back to bare timber. The face is maple, the sides & tops ply. I've stained the sides & top maple, one coat to match the front but the water test shows each face is different shades. I plan to keep applying coats to each surface to try and match it - is that correct? If I stain the maple front maple I expect it to darken - correct?

Second, I've got a baby change table to clean up and sell. It's just a store bought thing from babyco with some sort of low lustre clear finish over it but it's scratched and needs refinishing. I've been told to give it a light sand and oil it with danish or tung oil to bring it back. Thoughts on this one please?
