Colorwood
Whats used to finish colorwood to give it a high glass shine without darkening the colors?

You need to wet it down first to see how much it will darken when anything is applied. Most finishes will darken it more than the wed colour, oil will probably the worst especially one that has any sort of gloss level.
White Shellac (dewaxad) will give a high shine and shouldn't darken the timber more than wetting it with water.

There are also a number of lacquers that would perform well
And as was already stated shellac is very good too.
Ultimately it will depend on what you want from your finish and what application methods and skills you have.
If in doubt, practice on a scrap first!
