Server too busy message

Over the past few weeks I've encountered the:

The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

message while trying to browse the forums. I just had it now and when it cleared I noticed the following stats:

Currently Active Users: 1196 (156 members and 1040 guests)

Perhaps a mod like this one (I'm not sure which version this board runs) could be implemented so registered users don't have to see the message and can continue to browse the forums?

The main reason for server overload at the moment is the changes taking place put a load on the server at times.

No problems if it is a temporary thing.

If not, it sure is frustrating to keep getting the message when 85% of the forum visitors are unregistered guest.

I have the Server Load Limit set so high even 100,000 people logging on at once wouldn't stop it..... prone to as bit of exaggeration some times but even the same traffic that Google gets shouldn't now bring up that message.

Big problem over the last few weeks has been some pretty heavy going backups and downloads which have just about brought the entire network to a stand still, just so we could get the reno forums onto their new site. A couple of 5 hour server intensive downloads didn't help. A rebuild of the search engine for 6 hours and major updating of all counters etc have all added to the load.

Hopefully most of that will be behind us for a little while although we will be updating the forums from 3.6x to the latest version 3.7 in the next couple of weeks.

The new version is being trialled over on the Renovate Forum and has some really nice new bits in it.
