Sorry Bob, another leg is not the right term but you know me.
Our bed has pine slats and a metal beam in the middle underneath just like what chipman described. It sags a bit. I inserted a piece of pine stands vertically in the middle of the bed to give the metal beam support.
Chipman was right. Try it first and deal with it if needed.
