Building Permit
Can someone tell me how long a building permit is valid for in Vic

Mansfield Shire gave me one this year for my shed that expires in 2010.

I think WB is correct, but there may also be a condition that work commences within 12 months.

I think it will be written on the permit, mine has something to the effect that "a substantial amount of work" has to be completed within 2 years. This is for a house.

I have a current Building Permit in front of me, issued December 2007, to be started by December 2008, to be completed December 2009.

And for around $70 you can get a 6 month extension. I must ring up to find out what happens after that. Progress has been slow of late.
