Okay, Im getting THE BOOK, But....
Hi,
I posted a question about finishing a speaker thats been coated with Scandenavian teak oil. I was reffered to the book and website for some info on products for waxing my speakers. I did and will be ordering the book soon. Can someone (Niel) give me some advice as to what product I should order for this job so I can combine the order. It appears to me that these finishers are meant for application on the lathe and for smaller jobs. I would have no clue as to the quantity I would need, either. (I am in the process of building a shed so I don't want to order bulk untill I've got that sorted, I've lost/wasted so many stuff already).
Dumb question No.2 - Does tung oil coat and harden or does it soak in like other oils?
Heres my other post

Thanks for your time.

It forms a non-gloss surface, so further finishing (waxing or whatever) will be required if you need a gloss finish.
So really, Tung oil will leave you pretty much as you are now with your Teak Oil.

If you're into other projects I think you're cupboard should have the following :
Traditional Wax
Hard Shellac (use it thinned down to 50%, applied with a pad)
Sanding Sealer
Tripoli Powder
EEE Polish
A Swansdown Mop (excellent buffer)
*Don't forget to get the whole surface *very* smooth before applying anything.
Neil always ships out instruction leaflets with every product so it's hard to go wrong.
