Spa N Deck

Just thought i would post a few pics and details on a deck we recently restored as it seems to be a common interest to most...
The deck whilst being plane and boring to look at serves a purpose , in this case as a demo .. Its a treated pine deck built approx 7 years ago by us .. It was coated with 2 coats of feast watson deck oil when it was built and nothing has been done to it since as the property is a rental..

This first photo shows the colour of the algae on the deck as it actually looks dark brown



We'll start by saying that we followed the spa n deck methods and products for this resto..The 2 photo's below show that half of the deck has been cleaned and pressure washed with "powerlift"



Once this has been done the whole deck was then cleaned with "prep cleaner" and below is what it looked like (this deck has actually part dried and is why its now a lighter colour)


The photo below shows the same deck with 4 coats of merbau tinted "spa n deck" The company suggests 3 but this particular deck was abused enough to warrant 4 coats






I hope this goes part way to showing people who are considering renovating there deck what results can be achieved with a little time and practice and a good product in this case spa n deck..

Thanks for the photos! It's very helpful to see the deck at each stage of restoration.

The end result looks fantastic too, the owners must be wrapped.

You would think so but being a rental they dont care.. I sent photo's along with the invoice which included other building works and the total was all that interested them.. It was done more because they saw i got excited at the prospect of changing it in the near future if they didn't maintain it ..

It a good example though of dirty to clean regardless of the end product you choose to use
