Melbourne rubbish tip
Hi everyone. Does anyone know of a good place (preferably close to northern subs of Melbourne) to dispose of rubbish that consists of colorbond fencing, guttering some glass and timber, engine parts that are both metal and plastic. We are talking about 3,4 ute loads. Is it possible to take everything to one place or i will have to sort things out based on type of rubbish involved.

Bolinda Rd landfill on Hume Hwy Campbellfield, trailer load around $40 but your load contents may vary that. You could enquire in the yellow pages about taking the steel items to a recycler and save a fair bit.
Or there is Wollert Tip, Bridge Inn Rd Wollert, but they charge by the tonne and are more expensive, as are the suburban transfer stations (Ivanhoe, Coburg, Reservoir) probably closer to $50 for ute load.

Sims Metal in Campbellfield for all the sorted steel for sure. They will take it for free, or pay you if you have larger quantities. Then maybe it goes to China to make soft bendy spanners and sockets

I suggest you to contact your council tip, metals are free and general rubbish is about $30/ute load.
