Quoting in Posts
I am having trouble posting. The formatting seems to be up the creek with poor?line?lengths,?question?marks?between?words?and?random?line?length.?If?I?keep?going?this?post?will?have?the?wrong?line?length and question marks and the whole thing is unreadable.

Problem will be at your end somewhere.
Are you typing directly into the message box or are you compiling in word or another program and then pasting into message box? If so type directly into the message box.
It looks like the space bar is giving you ? instead of spaces. However your first and last lines were fine so how did you get them to work?
The line length is because there is no spaces in the line so it comes up as one long word.

That fixed it, so it must be the keyboard on the other computer, bugger!

What browser are you using?
Have you added any new programs since you last posted without this problem?
It appears to be showing formatting but the formatting isn't from the forums nor does it appear to be html code.
Have you tried typing into word or similar then printing the page to see if the same thing happens?
I have tried on 4 different browsers, Firefox, Opera, IE and Safari and can't duplicate the problem.
Will pass this one on to Steven and see what he makes of it. There may be a problem with php code or similar.
Please give as much info as possible: Computer type, Operating System and version, browser and version, etc

I am using Opera. I wonder if it the keyboard on this computer. I just tried to start a new thread and had to stop as the formatting was very bad. This post appears to be OK. It is funny that if I preview the post it shows up sometimes but not always.

I had a similar problem to this a while back, it was to do with the Firefox browser. Try clearing out your Cache and cookies, it fixed it. At the time Steven and me couldn't work out what is was and still don't know.

Hi there
I still couldn't re-create it now, this morning I checked on the following combinations;
linux (KDE) - firefox
win2K - IE6
win2k - firefox
winXP - IE7
winXP - firefox
It's like something is stopping the WYSIWYG editor from working correctly on this particular computer. Maybe virus scanners or firewall? unlikely though, does it happen on other websites?
regardsSteve

Steven, the first instance of it happened some days ago and I thought it was something I had done and ignored it as it didn't repeat itself until this morning and I have made multiple posts today. This is the only site I have encountered it on and I do subscribe to other fora. I will let you know if it re-occurs and then I will switch browsers and in general have a bit of a play and see if I can track narrow it down. I do not run a firewall and have AVG as an anti-virus and there have been no software changes in recent times.

Steven, I haven't had the problem since I cleared my cache when it happened that one time, could it be possible that the code somehow got corrupted whilst it was d/l from the server?
Cheers

I think I have just fixed this problem. In Opera it is possible to set it up to be identified as Explorer or Mozilla. I changed it a while back and have now changed it back to the original settings and it appears to work. Why it only acted the way it did on this forum only out of quite a few I frequent is anyone's guess.

Possibly something to do with cookies stored before you changed the set up.
