Bernzomatic Torch TS4000 or TS8000?
I'm considering buying a Bernzomatic Mapp torch to do some silver soldering of 1/2 and 3/4 copper.
Does anyone know whether there's much difference between the TS4000 and 8000 (the 2 most commonly available models) apart from variable flame?
Their website doesn't make it clear whether the 8000 has a bigger tip.
There appears to be around $30 difference in price between the 2 but if the tip is the same then I think I'd go for the 4000.

I dont think there would be a terrible amount of difference, Tradelink are doing a deal at the moment with a Super Ego turbo torch that comes with tube cutters etc, might be worth a look. Super Ego is almost identical to Rothenberger though the quality isnt the same, good stuff on a budget.

I have the 8000, I don't use the variable flame but I do use the flame lock. As far as I know the 4000 is the same but a basic model.
Where in adelaide r u,If you dont play it, it's not an instrument!

Where in adelaide r u,
I've got access to an oxy torch, but the Mapp idea appeals to me due to its relatively small size/portability etc.
Thanks for the reponses.
