    Default Attaching beam to house

Just had a look at the beam on my house where I want to attach a deck. The joists/floor upstairs is overhanging the beam by about 100mm.
Does anyone have advice on how to attach a beam to this?
Also going to be a bit annoying and harder since I'm planning on putting in french doors.

do you have photos? is there an existing one? ie, the reason for the overhang?

you could slip the new joists down the side of the existing ones.
