50 mm red bricks.
Hi all,
I've a need for some 60 bricks to fix up my fire place.
They are a 50mm high x 165mm long x 75mm thick red brick. The house is of 1950 vintage and although not sure I don't think the fireplace ever was intended for an open fire, rather a warm ray or something (no chimney. Just a flue). I yesterday pulled off a cover that was liquid nailed to the front of the fireplace only to find that it covered a huge hole. I now want to rebrick it up or do something so I can install a gas heater without having a huge hole in the brickwork behind it. The depth from the front of the brickwork to the wall is not enough to install a console type heater.
Any ideas?
Thanks
M.

Really need pictures
I have a feeling they are biscuits. Bricks split through the middle out of a standard common.(queen closures) The 165mm is different. Almost a 3/4
Pictures would be good.c2=a2+b2;
When buildings made with lime are subjected to small movements thay are more likely to develop many fine cracks than the individual large cracks which occur in stiffer cement-bound buildings. Water penetration can dissolve the 'free' lime and transport it. As the water evaporates, this lime is deposited and begins to heal the cracks. This process is called autogenous healing.

Thanks for the input peoples,
I'll try and get a photo of them soon. Need batteries for my Cam. I believe they are a brickette.
I've tried the brick pit and the others on the 2nd hand link. All no good. Pavers will probably be closer. Although they will not match the textured face.
Cheers.
