Default Plumbing Drawings for Council Permit

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can give me any information about getting some plumbing drawings done, so i can submit them to council to get plumbing permits.

I am capable of drawing them myself, or else i will get someone in to do it, but i was wondering if there is anything specific that needs to be on the plans, including pipe dimensions etc etc?

Any help, or recommendations for a draftsman in Hobart would be appreciated.

    Thanks

That one's got me. In NSW as far as I know you don't need them. We submitted a drainage diagram after the fact, which goes on file for future reference, but no upfront plans in order to get the permit. Is this a Tassie thing perhaps?

Yeah here if you are altering drainage or adding plumbing fixtures, apparently a plumber should not perform the work without a council permit approval.
which of course, our very dodgy builders did NOT get.
so now i need to get it drawn up and submitted to Council to get a backdated approval permit for the plumbing.

Mate if you need to submit a plan for future works I can only imagine you will need pipe sizes, distances (there is restrictions on how far you can run different sized pipes) they may even want the symbols of different fixtures(perhaps, only guessing) and they may event want to go as far as looking at gully and soffit requirements aswell as venting. This is only a guess not being from Tassie but I reckon I'd get your plumber to draw it up.
PS it may also depend on the individual inspector/representative from the relevant authority.
