Finish for camphor laurel?
I've just about finished a blanket box with a comphor laurel base. It has a lovely aroma and it's said that the bugs will keep away. Should I put a finish on the camphor laurel? That will inhibit the smell I'm sure.
My original plan was not to put a finish on the inside of the base but to put a finish on the bottom.
Any suggestions are welcome...

I would either leave it unfinished or a light coat of danish oil.

I'd be inclined to put a couple of thin coats of shellac inside. The danish oil is good, but I prefer not to use oil inside a box or something that will stay closed and especially not oil on Camphor Laurel. I've a CL box that I shellaced inside and even after 2 years, it still wafts camphor laurel when I open the lid.
cheers
