    Default Quick set cement/concrete

I am putting in some posts for a retaining wall and I have the quickset stuff ready to put in the holes tomorrow.

The instructions say to mix it with water in a wheel barrow etc.

What do you do? Put it straight in the hole then add water or follow the instructions?

I have done it both ways. If using a barrow make it a little more runny than normal, this stuff really does go off quickly.
If pouring into the hole dry, dont put it all in at once. Put maybe 1/3 of the bag in, add water and mix with a stick or whatever is handy, add 1/3 more powder then water and mix etc until done.
    Hope this helps Cheers Steven

Add water to hole, poor rapid set in. My understanding is that the water ratio is not important with rapid quick set because its a faster chemical reaction than normal. Never had a prob with this method.

Rapid Set says not to do it in a barrow.
