Yeh i built the frames from scratch, Im pleased how they came up.

The existing building external wall will be raised around 300mm. This will allow the skillion style roof beams to span from the new external wall to the current external wall and onto the load bearing wall in the middle of the building. Effectively totally covering the current skillion roof. The entire roof sheeting is being replaced at the same time.

Yeh footings one day, stumps the next.

    Day for bearers/joists/yellow tongue

Day for load bearing frame/one side wall.

Day for other side wall / bracing / fit windows and doors.

Looks great Purse, excuse my ignorance people but how do you know where to put the metal strip bracing, i always notice it ut it only seems to be on certain sections. Any reason for where it should go?

The Building code sets out how much, what kind and where best to put it.

Type/qty is based on structure type/size and wind rating (from memory) and the position is suggested to be as close to the corners of the wall as possible.

Materials are all mgp10 structual pine (except stumps are treated).

Stumps treated pine 150mm dia ( i think 120mm was the minimum as per the building code)

Bearer span of 1800 with 2/140x45
    Joist span 1800 with 140x 45 at 450mm centers
    Yellow tongue flooring
Lintels sliding door was 190x45 windows are 140x45
    90x45 wall plates
    90x35 studs at 450mm centers
Roof beams are 240x45 to acheive a 5000mm span.
    Purlins are 70x35

You really need to get a hold of the BCA and span tables to work out what you need for your particular project.
