downlights for double storey buiding.

hi friends,
I just got registered as electrician and building up the career. Since I came from oversease, not so familier with the domestic installation. Recently i got a job for the renovation of a house which included down light fitting for the living room (ground floor). I was just wondering what would be the easiest way to do that. I know I can do it some how with the pulling wire(snake), but just wanted to know whether there is any easy method for it.

Hi George, Are you just replacing an existing light? or do they want a heap installed? if it is the latter in my experience it is a nightmare of a job almost impossible without drilling holes either side of bearers and threading the cable through to different light locations using yellow tongue or the snake.. you do know most lighting companies recommend not to install Low voltage downlights in enclosed ceilings because of the in adequate ventilation and the overheating effects on the tranformers and or lamps

thanks for the information. As u said, their requirement is to replace all flush mounts with the CFL downlights. In the case, I have to make additional points for all lighting connnection. There is another option of fixing gang downlight fittings and I could probably go for that in case of no other option..
