    Default Simply Must Read This!

My "mate", John from Munruben sent me this message
    last night.

Quote: "You are not going to believe this, (I'm having
trouble myself), but I've won a trip to Hamilton Island
courtest of Radio Station Triple J.
Five nights, all expenses paid and $1,000 spending
money ... and the best bit, I can take five friends
    with me.
I know it's short notice and quite a distance to travel,
but if you are free on 29th March, is there any chance
you could pop around and put my bin out?"

Reading the first paragraph I commented, "Good
on you John - well done you lucky lad".

During paragraph two I got quite excited
... is John choosing me as one of five friends?

Paragraph three asks if I am free on 29th March
    - too right I am mate. I just packed my pyjamas,
grabbed a toothbrush, cancelled my mail
deliveries and rang a few relatives to let them
know I would not be home for a while.

Then I read the final sentence.

What a letdown ... thanks "MATE"

I wish you had not sent me that joke John.
I cant wipe the smile off my face each time
I think of it. People in public places are
    giving me odd looks.

    Pfft.

I picked it as a fraud straight away. Triple J never give away fun stuff like that. Only concert tickets and stuff.

Anyway, my bin was collected this morning, and I couldn't be bothered to bring it in. I'm looking for volunteers.....

Well, he might have had five friends
but you can mark that down as four now.

Even at my funeral I wont be let down
    as hard as that.
