oil and wax - whats the go?
about finish a solid body guitar [southern myrtle] in oil and wax
i usually apply sanding sealer, multiple shader coats under mutiple clear coats.
after the mutiple coats and many sandings and a month curing it goes up through the grades to 2500 grit followed by swirl remover and polish for a mirror shine....it akes two weeks to get the coats on and 4 weeks to cure
i want to get back to basics on this one to be quite honest - i am after a more natural looking hand rubbed sheen
wondering if the following products are the go for a quick easy finish...
cabots danish and gillys carnauba
i understand that sanding is needed up to fine grits still, but hopefully, less work and a quicker result than aboveray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'

If you're after a real DO - something with more Tung Oil than PolyU - then I'd suggest you forget the Cabot's and look at sourcing some Rustin's DO.
In my books one is a headache, the other a delight.
Mind you, I don't think I've ever made any musical instruments apart from the odd Aeolian Harp.
Gilly's Carnauba is a good wax, provided you don't mind rewaxing as and when needed to maintain the finish. But that's true of any wax, I guess. Still, Gilly's is what I use for my large projects. (I use UBeaut's Shithot Waxstik on my turnings, just to throw a plug in for our sponsor. Even so, it is my wax of choice then...)

I can't comment on the Organoil as I haven't tried it for myself. Yet. It's on my shopping list though, as I've heard good things about it.
