I change work boots at least every 6 months.
The company pays for them and we have tried every boot imaginable.
We recently trialed the Steel Blue boots and 5 of the blokes on my crew were part of that trial.
The overwhelming response from the trial was positive. So much so, I'd say we'll be pretty much using Steel Blue ahead of all the rest from now on. And when you consider as a company we probably buy 800 pairs of boots a year, that's a pretty good endorsement.
Even got myself a pair the other day and when I got home I said to the better half it felt like I'd been wearing slippers all day.
They are without a doubt VERY comfortable.
As far as socks are concerned, we have trialled lots. We even buy whats called silver socks. They have silver threads sown into them. This is supposed to absorb odour. I personally think they're rubbish and at $25 a pair........give me explorers any day.

What do you say when a man with a Glock insults you like that???
You say "yes sir...very good sir...you're absolutely right sir...."(tugs forelock).
For the record, Queensland feet are what you got when you grew up in the bush in the '60s or earlier and never wore shoes for the first ten years of your life. your toes tend to develop wider than our leather bound cousins

Queensland feet?
Queensland feet? What about PNG feet?
I had to go for wide size 11-12 shoes when my feet are size 8 to get the width. Now get size 'GG' width New Balance sandshoes that fit rather than specially made shoes...
For steel capped boots, I wear Taipan boots for work. First day in them after a fire for 14 hours, walking constantly and no blisters or anything. Wonderful boots for me, and no compaints from any PFFs that come in each year.
And made in Qld!
My 2c worth anyway
