Default What is the tradey term for these?

    Gudday

Been lurking for a while...and this has been a very helpful forum. Thought 'bout time I ask a question, might as well make it a dumb one .

Does anybody know the correct "tradey" term for the awnings on these windows. I would have though "fixed window awnings"... failing that what is the the correct term for the support brackets.

And if anybody knows of a supplier in Melbourne - would love to know - local Bunnies was useless.

It would need to span a 1800 mm window so the brackets and support for the colorbond would need to be reasonably substantial....any suggestions......be nice!

Well the awnings are called window awnings and the brackets are called... window awning brackets!

    blank looks from the Bunnies
    Does that surprise you?

I've never really had a close look at one of those to see what the frame looks like. I imagine you would simply span the brackets with battens of some sort - but they would need to be quite heavy for a 1800 span. A 70x35 batten will span up to 1200 under a tin roof but I don't have anything in my tables for an 1800 span. Maybe one of the other guys will have more details.

Bunnies Croydon stock some of these, and can special order the full range from R.Cornall&Son
They refer to them as canopies.

Thanks for that thought I might be going nuts when the local Bunnies directed me to a curtain shop...I found the quality of the advice is very person dependent at Bunnies...unfortunately the knowledgable one I usually go to doesn't seem to be working their usual hours

    For an 1800 span you need f8 70 x 45 on edge (100 x 38 will do)

Did you buy them yet? If not, I can recommend the mob who supply bunny's - but they're in Reservoir, so I don't know if it's too far. they're called R. Cornall and Sons .... if you need their number, make sure to ask by the name I gave, otherwise you may get Cornall's who are in Heidelberg and will only add to the Bunny's blank looks.
