Remove slate floor
Hi all,
I have approx 32 sq meters of slate tiles to be removed from a concrete slab. My question is what catagory of tradesman do I look for that does this???? and while im here can anyone supply me with some contact numbers of anyone that does this????... I want it all lifted and removed off site and ready for me to lay floating timber flooring.
Also what should I be expecting to pay for this kind of job?
Cheers.

Dribbler,
it's really a trades assistant or labourer's work. Anyone with half a brain, a demolition hammer or large rotary hammer with rotation stop and a chisel bit, plus a wheel barrow, shovel and broom could do it. You could buy yourself an Ozito rotary hammer drill for under $100 spend a few dollars more on a chisel bit, pick up a carton of beer on the way home from the hardware and go for it. Otherwise a plumber, bricklayer or carpenter could probably do it for you.

There are businesses around that specialize in floor prep for tiling etc. I've seen business cards at tile shops, so you might call around a few and see if they can recommend someone. Perhaps something might show up under tiling in the yellowpages.

You can probably get a handyman from a local paper or hire a tile lifter from Kennards, It will save your back and a heap of time and money. All the best
Cheers
