How to install RFL?
I wish to retrofit some rfl(silver shiny stuff) for insulation(for keeping out heat) in a house in qld.
The roof height is very low above the ceiling(theres no manhole). I have removed the ceiling in the lounge dining, kitchen and hallway as it needs a resheet. (the bedrooms are fine) So I was hoping to install the rfl this way without taking off the roof.
So 1st question - is it ok if there are gaps between the strips of rfl? The gaps would be taken up by beams in the roof. I hope you understand what I mean. I was planning on laying the rfl across the top of the trusses(?) this way the rfl would be sitting about 40mm below the actual tin roof. I would need to do about 10 strips of about 1 metre wide and run them the length of the house. So is it ok if there are gaps in the rfl(where the beams are) as it will be impossible to lay one entire sheet of rfl.
I hope you understood what I meant. I can send pics if necessary.
any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks you <!--IBF.ATTACHMENT_25389--><!-- THE POST -->
