    Default Timber beading

    Hi,

I have a few windows that i need to replace the glass. I have tried to re-putty them but i am making a mess, although i am gettting the hang of it, i have heard of using timber beading instead, is this just like really small quad? Does anyone have a picture or a guide they can show me?

    Thank you.

    hi Feldapar

will throw my thoughts into the mix as has been a few days since your post

timber beading is pretty much a strip of timber that you fit into an angle - head off to a timber / hardware store and check out the different profiles which include the quad one's you mentioned

haven't really used timber beading but would assume that in using this you no longer need pin nails (to fix your window) prior to applying your putty

    hope this helps

It's called glazing bead and the best place to get it is a joinery shop.
I recon putty is better if the window is exposed to rain as it sheds water better
