L Bench joining
I have laminated solid oak benchtops from Ikea and need to join two together in an L shape to complete the kitchen. We have called a number of local joinery firms to see if they will rout clamp fittings in for us and cut the benchtops so they are a smooth finish on the ends but no one is interested so we have a bit of an adventure on our hands doing it ourselves. . Any advice anyone can offer would be really appreciated.

If they are square edged, just butt them together, if they are postformed, you will need to do a masons mitre, and you can buy a template to make them using a router.

You can easily do the cut out underneath using a forstner bit a handsaw and chisel if you don't have a router

If you have rounded edges on your benchtop you can do a 45 degree mitre instead of a masons mitre.
