Default What to finish my cyprus floors in...

Looking at finnishes for my cyprus floors - once all the other work is done to get it to a state thats finnishable...

I think I am going to go a 2 pac product, definitely not a tung oil product...

so far I think i like "Bona Traffic" as the floor needs to be hard wearing with dogs and kids heres a link to the product page for it... http://www.bona.net.au/html/homeowne...asp?ID=traffic

Anyone have any experience with this product? on cyprus or any other timber?

Or any one have any other suggestions?

    Cheers

My only suggestion is to not use any polyurethane product on cypress....mainly because a cypress floor moves quite a bit and any skin forming finish tends to break on the board edge and look quite rough.......and my personal feeling is that a cypress floor with a gloss finish looks really ordinary.
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

I used the Bona Mega product on my pine floors, and I'm very happy with it. It is very easy to apply and hardwearing. The Traffic version should be even harder-wearing. The pine dents easily and I haven't seen any breaking of the finish. Traffic is also a matt finish, avoiding the high-gloss look.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

    Thanks for your thoughts...

I just spoke to the distributor for bona in my area and it all sounds quite good... about $400 for sealer and 2 coats of bona traffic "IP" - invisible protection for 40sqm of floor (that sounds pretty reasonable doesn't it?)... hopefully that will help keep quite a natural look to it... I don't much like the real glossy look on cypress either...
